Dear Friend –
Dramaloguers, it's hot out! (Not exactly news, we know.) If there was ever the perfect time to hunker down in air conditioning with a tall glass of iced tea and binge British dramas, this would be it! And between our Sunday night lineup, the handy schedule below, and all the great shows available to WTTW Passport members, there's no excuse for not being thoroughly entertained.
As you watch the aforementioned Sunday lineup of Patience, Grantchester, and the return of Atlantic Crossing, be sure to check out our recaps if you haven't already, and take advantage of some fun extras provided by our friends at Masterpiece, including this feature in which the Grantchester actors attempt to name all of the Keating kids; this podcast episode with Daisy Coulam, Grantchester's writer and executive producer; some informative extras connected with Atlantic Crossing; and some fantastic goodies coming up in August, in the form of trailers for season 2 of The Marlow Murder Club and season 6 of Unforgotten.
And in case you've been on a desert island for the past week, check out the exciting new trailer for the upcoming Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale below. We can't wait!
This week in Spot That Actor: Mark Umbers, who plays Raymond Starr in Patience, also portrayed Cecil in Hotel Portofino, and also appeared in season 5 of Grantchester and made guest appearances in Father Brown, Home Fires, and (of course) Midsomer Murders. Paul Copley, Reverend Stuart Potts in episode 4 of Grantchester this season, is probably best known as Mr. Mason in Downton Abbey, but he has also popped up in All Creatures Great and Small, DI Ray, Last Tango in Halifax, Father Brown, Doc Martin, Call the Midwife, and many others.
Time for another iced tea!
